Congratulations to Chef Megan Snyder (Proof Restaurant) for capturing the last semifinal spot in CFNs Ultimate Championship series. Her menu consisting of Citrus Cured Salmon and Egg Yolks, Pan Seared Duck Breast with Fried Brussels Sprouts and Cardamon Pound Cake with Honeycomb Ice Cream reigned supreme and she advances to the Semifinals on 3/12 to meet Chef Adam Middleswart.

A special Thank You to our judges for Round Four: Alessandra Meschini (Cooking with Alessandra), Jackie Schmillen (CW Iowa Live) and Courtney Dettmer (2017 Blue Ribbon Baconfest Bacon Queen).

Chef Andy Sayre was born and raised in Jefferson, Iowa. He started cooking when he was 14 years old in a student ran restaurant called Ram Restaurant. From there he went to Iowa Central for Culinary Arts. After completing the program, Chef Sayre spent 3 years at Baru 66 as a pastry chef and sous chef. Andy has also spent time with Waterfront Seafood and Mirabelle in Beaver Creek, Colorado. Currently, Andy is Sous Chef of Echo Valley Country Club and he is excited to represent them at CFN!

Chef Megan Snyder grew up in a small southwest Iowa town and got a lot of her inspiration from her grandma growing up. With her love of cooking, Megan decided to go to Culinary School in Cedar Rapids and get her Bakery and Culinary Arts degrees. During that time, Chef Snyder learned the workings of Banquet service, front of house service and private events. After that, she moved to Des Moines where she has been with Proof for 4 years, currently as the AM Sous Chef.
